DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Tova Torstensson of Embry-Riddle is the first Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week in women's soccer for the 2010 season. This is Torstensson's first Player of the Week honor; the award was for the week of Aug. 30 - Sept. 5.
Torstensson anchored an Eagle defense that surrendered just two goals in three contests last week. She also led ERAU to a 4-0 shutout of Webber International in ERAU's first game of the week. Torstensson and the Blue and Gold took down NAIA No. 13 Auburn Montgomery (2-1), as well as Mobile (Ala.) in a double-overtime thriller (2-1)
Torstensson is a freshman from Stockholm, Sweden majoring in Communication.
