DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A record-breaking performance against Johnson & Wales helped SCAD Savannah senior Ellert Hreinsson to the first Sun Conference men’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor of 2010. Hreinsson (Kopavogur, Iceland) scored at least one point in all three matches for the Bees last week finishing with 12 points on five goals and two assists.

Hreinsson began the week with an assist in SCAD’s 3-1 defeat of Milligan and followed with the game-winner in a 1-0 decision against conference foe Northwood. Against Johnson and Wales, he tied the school record for goals (4) and points (9) in a match with four goals and an assist in the Bees’ 13-0 win.

Hreinsson is now SCAD’s all-time leader in goals (41) and points (99) and leads the Bees with nine goals this season.
