Embry-Riddle Set to Host NAIA National Tournament Opening Round

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The NAIA has announced the pairings for the 2009 Women's Soccer NAIA National Championship Opening Round on Sunday. The Embry-Riddle women's soccer team will play host to Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.) this coming Saturday (Nov. 21); game time is set for 5 p.m. The winners of the National Championship Opening Round games will advance to the National Championship final site Nov. 30 - Dec. 5 in Decatur, Ala.

Embry-Riddle (14-5) earned an automatic berth in the National Championship by way of their 2-1 victory over Northwood in The Sun Conference Tournament Championship match Friday (Nov. 13) in West Palm Beach, Fla. After the Seahawks got on the board in the 80th minute ERAU answered with back-to-back goals from Lindsey Evans and Krizzy Menez to secure the title.

The Eagles will be making their sixth appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. The Blue and Gold have a 1-5 record.

The University of Auburn-Montgomery (14-4-2) earned an at-large bid to the National Tournament with their No. 15 ranking in the last NAIA National Poll. The Lady Senators are making their third appearance in the 32-team tournament with a 1-2 record.
