Embry-Riddle Runs To Team Titles

Lake Wales, Fla. – For the fourh time in as many years the Embry-Riddle women's cross country squad won The Sun Conference Championships hosted by Webber International.
The Eagles placed 10 runners in the top 13 to claim the top spot over seven other conference opponents. Winning the individual title in 18:41.47 was Juline Brice of Webber International University who claimed her second individual title in three years. Joining Brice at the national championships as individual qualifiers are Sarah Caskey (SCAD), Tranese Boston (Warner), Cara Martin (SCAD), and Katie Mock (USCB).
The 8th-ranked Embry-Riddle men's cross country team won their fifth consecutive The Sun Conference Championship on Saturday, giving them an automatic berth into the NAIA National Championship. The Eagles scored 18 points and placed five in the top six to claim first place. Evans Kirwa took the individual title as he crossed the line in a time of 26:36.95. Individual qualifiers include Ignacio Fernandez, Ben Harrison (SCAD) and Stephen Wilson, Frank Tinsley, and Nic Jones (USCB).
Garnering runner of the year honors were Juline Brice of Webber (women) and Evans Kirwa of Embry-Riddle (men). Mike Rosolino was named men’s and women’s The Sun Conference coach of the year
Next up for The Sun Conference national qualifiers are the NAIA National championships, to be held in two weeks in Fort Vancouver, Washington.
