DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's soccer team used a four-goal second half to pull away from Webber International and secure a spot in The Sun Conference Tournament Championship, Friday evening at the Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium. The Eagles (13-5) will face the winner of the SCAD/Northwood matchup slated for tomorrow at 3 p.m. in West Palm Beach, Fla., while the Warriors (11-5-1) end their season with the loss.

The Warriors looked to have complete control of the game in the first 10 minutes as three Warrior shots were expertly saved by Eagle keeper Dina Roper as well as a great defensive play by Chloe Cowart to keep a ball from rolling over the goal line. However, the Eagles and Warriors settled into a physical back and forth battle the remainder of the first period.

The only score of the first half came off a Cecilie Henriksen corner kick that found Lindsey Evans' head in the 29th minute to give ERAU the 1-0 lead going into the break.

The second half belonged to Sun Conference Player of the Year Elina Johansson and Sun Conference Newcomer of the Year Krizzy Menez as both Eagles scored a pair of goals in the second period.

Johansson's goals came in the 50th and 62nd minutes, the latter on a penalty kick. Johansson has 22 goals on the season.

Menez finished the scoring for the Blue and Gold with a beautiful finish of a Kristen Phelps pass at the 65:30 mark. Then in the 81st minute Menez scored her fifth overall goal unassisted.

Roper finished with her eighth shutout of the year with six saves in 90 minutes. The Eagles outshot the Warriors 15-11.
