USCB's Lady Sand Sharks Win the 2010 SCAD Spring Invitational
SAVANNAH, GA- The 15th ranked USCB Lady Sand Shark golfers held on to the lead over the other fifteen teams to take first place at the 2010 SCAD Spring Invitational, with a team total of 632 (317-315)on the par 71, 5890 yard Wilmington Island Golf Course. The Sand Sharks were led by freshman, Kaitlin O’Sullivan with a 153 (77-76).
O’Sullivan led the Sand Sharks both days and finished in a three way tie for first place with Nikki Stewart of SCAD, and Jayne Curtis of Berry. After a three man playoff, O’Sullivan had to settle for second, SCADs Nikki Stewart took first. Freshman, Kelli Nakano was next to finish for the Lady Sand Sharks, tied for eighth with a two day total of 158 (80-78).
Sophomore, Brittney Cheek concluded the tournament tied for eleventh, with and 78 and an 81 (159). Adrianna Saavedra was next to finish with a 162 (82-80). Sophie Henke rounded out the score card with a 168 (84-84).
Golfers Phyllis Langley and Sally Woodhead played unattached and finished with a 169 (83-86) and 181 (88-93) respectively.
No. 5 SCAD and No. 6 Northwood (FLA) finished the tournament tied for third with 641, while Armstrong Atlantic State took second with a 638.
The Lady Sand Shark golfers will be in action next, at the ERAU Bash at the Beach, April 9-11 in Daytona, FL.
