ERAU Men's and Women's Track & Field Take Sun Conference Championship Titles
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Both the Embry-Riddle men's and women's track and field teams took home its respective Sun Conference Championship title Monday afternoon at the ERAU Track Complex on the campus of Embry-Riddle.
It was the fourth consecutive title for the Eagle men and the second consecutive title for the women, under Head Coach Mike Rosolino.
ERAU's Bobby Thomas was honored as The Sun Conference Field Athlete of the Year for his solid performances on the weekend, while Evans Kirwa of ERAU was awarded the Runner of the Year honors for his impressive weekend at The Sun Conference Championship.
On the women's side, Nicole Pope of Warner was awarded the Field Athlete of the Year honors and Juline Brice of Webber International was named the Track Athlete of the Year.
Webber International's Terrell Griffin was honored as The Sun Conference Coach of the Year for the men and Florida Memorial's Richard Roosevelt was selected as The Sun Conference Coach of the Year for the women.
Embry-Riddle's Baleigh Hyatt and Spencer Wade were selected as the first annual women's and men's Sun Conference Champions of Character.
The top three winners of each event will be named to the All-Conference team for the 2010 season.
