FT. MYERS, Fla. - The sixth-seeded SCAD Savannah Bees aren't quite ready to end their season, beating No. 4 Webber International 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon. SCAD Head Coach Doug Wollenburg won his 300th game with the victory, while the Warriors end their season at 25-26. The Bees (29-28) advance to play in the winner's bracket championship tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. against the winner of tonight's St. Thomas vs. Warner game.

The two starting pitchers gave their teams tremendous outings, as WIU's Chaz Abeln and SCAD's Matthew Rogers each pitched complete games for their respective teams. Neither team could scratch across a run against the opposing pitcher for the first two-thirds of the game, as the contest entered the bottom of the seventh without a score.

SCAD scored one run in the home-half of the seventh on a passed ball by WIU catcher Ryan Regidor, and then in the eighth, another Bee touched home on a passed ball before Mark Malec singled in the final run of the day to give SCAD a 3-0 lead.

Rogers allowed two Warriors to reach base with one out, but teamed up with second baseman John Milian to pick off one base runner and then the game ended on a ground ball to second that Milian flipped to Pope at short to end the threat.

Rogers threw nine innings to earn his seventh win, giving up seven hits and one walk while fanning three. Abeln tossed eight frames, allowing three unearned runs on seven hits in the defeat.
