Men's Soccer All-Tourney Team Announced, Ingram Named MVP
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - 12 individuals comprising the four semifinal participating schools of The Sun Conference Men's Soccer Tournament were named to the All-Tournament team as announced by the conference office on Monday. The tournament champion Thomas Night Hawks placed five on the All-Tournament roster, headlined by tournament Most Valuable Player Jarrod Ingram.
Ingram was joined by teammates Steven Conway, Stacey Freeman, Rowan Liburd and Joseph Lopez on the squad, while SCAD Savannah's Theo Angus, Alex Jamroz and Jordan Trinci-Lyne represented the tournament runner-up on the 12-member team.
Veit Couturier and Ally MacDonald were selected from Embry-Riddle and Southeastern's David Danahy and Philip Tull were the Fire's representatives.
Ingram scored two goals in the title match against the Bees, including the game-winner in the 72nd minute to go with two goals he registered against Southeastern and the game-winning assist he recorded against Warner during the tournament's three contests. Ingram helped lead the Night Hawks to the first conference title in any sport and the first NAIA National Tournament appearance for the men's soccer program in school history.
Defenders Conway and Freeman helped anchor the Night Hawk back line during the tournament, while midfielder Lopez and forward Liburd contributed to the TU offense.
SCAD's Jamroz and Trinci-Lyne each recorded game-winning goals during the tournament for the Bees while Angus collected a pair of assists in the tournament.
