KANSAS CITY, Mo.—For the first time in program history, the Fire football team is heading to the postseason.

Southeastern was one of 16 teams invited to participate in the 2016 NAIA Football Championship Series. By way of winning The Sun Conference, and being ranked 20th in the final poll of the regular season, the Fire automatically qualified.

The Fire will head to Waleska, Ga. To take on Reinhardt University in the first round of the tournament. It will be Reinhardt's second trip to the NAIA FCS, and will host for the first time in program history.

"They are an outstanding team in all phases," said coach Keith Barefield. "Their offense is a unique style, and we're going to do the best that we can."

Reinhardt boasts the NAIA's top rushing attack, and were ranked third in the final Top 25 Poll. The Eagles are a perfect 11-0 this season, scoring 40 or more points 10 times.
