Keiser Wins Men's Tennis Championship

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. – Top seeded Keiser University won The Sun Conference Men’s Tennis Championship Presented by Olympus Insurance with a 5-0 victory over Warner University Friday at the Crandon Park Tennis Center.  It marked the first Sun Conference Men’s Tennis Championship in school history for the Keiser Seahawks.

Keiser ran out to a 3-0 lead after doubles competition led by the number one doubles team of Rafael Lenz and Shaquille Taylor who defeated Rafael A. Coutinho and Rafael E. Coutinho 8-5.  In number two doubles, Martin Martins and Guilherme Cunha defeated Rafael Da Luz and Guillaume de Vauxclairs 8-5.  Nicolas Guerschanik and Arthur Bonnaud took care of Francisco Perafan and Renan Gambim 8-2 in number three doubles.

The Seahawks then finished off the win with a victory in number two singles by Martin Martins 6-0, 6-2 over Rafael Da Luz and a 6-3, 6-0 win by Arthur Bonnard over Quentin Staley in number four singles.

The Sun Conference Championship was held at The Tennis Center at Crandon Park, the home of the Miami Open, on beautiful Key Biscayne, Fla., for the first time in conference history.
