Women’s Golf Championship Begins Sunday Morning

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.—The top two teams in the NAIA Women’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 headline the nine participating squads at The Sun Conference Championship, which begins Sunday morning at PGA National’s Fazio Course.
Top ranked Keiser will be the first team on the tee box at 8 a.m. alongside defending Sun Conference and national champion SCAD Savannah and seventh-ranked USCB.
Defending national medalist Maria Paula Otero of SCAD will be in the third group along with Keiser’s Serra Evrengil and USCB’s Deliah Prescha. Otero finished 54 holes at the Championship Course at PGA National to take medalist honors as well as National Player of the Year. Evrengil is currently ranked 12
th in the NAIA according to Golfstat.
Three of the top six players in the NAIA will tee off at 8:36 with No. 1 Samantha Fuller of Keiser, Paula Sofia Suarez of SCAD Savannah, and sixth-ranked Blanca Porta of USCB all together. Porta is a junior, while the other two are sophomores.
Southeastern, ranked 14
th will be joined on the first tee by No. 23 Coastal Georgia and Thomas which begin play at 8:45. Ana Uribe of SEU is ranked 24
th according to Golfstat, and will tee off at 9:21.
Webber International, Ave Maria, and Johnson & Wales will be the final five groups off the tee.
The championship will consist of 54 holes over three days of play. The team champion will receive an automatic bid to the 25
th Annual NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship May 14-17 at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
