Sun Conference Football Game of the Week: No. 13 St. Thomas Hosts No. 17 Southeastern

TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference is excited to announce its eighth Football Game of the Week of the 2025 season. The No. 13 St. Thomas University Bobcats will host the No. 17 Southeastern University Fire on Saturday, October 25th in week four of conference action.

Viewed as a must-watch non-conference matchup, the league will provide additional promotion and sideline coverage throughout the day. Fans can follow along on the league’s social media accounts by clicking the icons below.

St. Thomas Notes

  • St. Thomas is 4-2 on the season, returning to Miami Gardens following a 35-14 setback at No. 2 Keiser University on Saturday, Oct. 18.
  • This is the Bobcats third time being featured in the Sun Conference Game of the Week, defeating Georgetown College on Sept. 20 before their matchup against Keiser.
  • STU has held three opponents to 14 points (4.7 per game) at AutoNation Field this season, allowing 158.0 yards per game while boasting 46.7 points on 396.7 yards.
  • The Bobcats rank 18th in the NAIA in scoring with 38.3 points per game, scoring 11 touchdowns off interceptions which ranks seventh nationally.
  • Jaelyn Thomas ranks 22nd in the NAIA in all-purpose yards with 125.5 per game.
  • The Bobcats have not lost back-to-back conference games since the 2021 campaign.
  • STU has three receivers averaging over three receptions per game, led by 2024 Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Year David Hayes who has 29 catches for 401 yards and six touchdowns.

  • Southeastern is #22 in the NAIA, holding a 5-1 overall record and 2-1 mark in Sun Conference play, outscoring opponents 223–81 this season.
  • The Fire rank 8th nationally in scoring defense (13.5 ppg) and 10th in total defense (260.5 ypg).
  • SEU averages 384.0 total yards per game, ranking 4th in the Sun Conference, with 198.7 rushing yards (2nd Sun) and 185.3 passing yards (4th Sun).
  • Southeastern scores 37.2 points per game, the 2nd-best scoring offense in the Sun Conference.
  • The Fire are 3-0 on the road, allowing just 11.0 points per game away from Lakeland.
  • Thomas Ibrahim leads both the Sun Conference and the NAIA with 8.0 sacks while adding 14.0 tackles for loss.
