TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces the players of the week for baseball, beach volleyball, women's flag football, men's and women's golf, women's lacrosse, men's and women's outdoor track & field, men's and women's tennis, and softball for the week of March 23, 2026.

Baseball Players of the Week
Player of the Week
Ty Mathews, Webber International
Senior | Brownsburg, Idaho | Infielder
Notes: Mathews had 10 hits in 18 at bats for the Warriors against the Mighty Banyans, good for a .556 batting average. He sent four of them for extra bases while knocking in 9 RBI’s.
Pitcher of the Week
Austin Taylor, Keiser
Junior | West Jordan, Utah | Right-Handed Pitcher
Notes: Austin Taylor delivered a dominant outing on the mound in his lone start of the week, leading Keiser to a 10-1 conference win over Ave Maria. Taylor threw a complete game, going 7.0 innings while allowing just 3 hits and 1 unearned run. He finished with a 0.00 ERA and a 0.57 WHIP, striking out 6.

Notes: Southerland led the way offensively for the Mariners! She tallied eight RBI in 11 at bats, batting .455 on the week, in the three-game conference sweep of Webber.
Pitcher of the Week

Junior | Springfield, Ga. | Pitcher
Notes: Mills was pivotal on the mound in two games against Webber in Sun Conference play. Over 13 innings, she allowed just one earned run, recorded three strikeouts, and earned two wins.

Defensive Player of the Week
Lizzie Belton, Keiser
Sophomore | Dallas, Ga. | Defender
Notes: Belton anchored the defensive effort across two games, making a significant impact without needing to appear on the scoresheet. She totaled seven ground balls and seven draw controls, consistently helping her team gain and maintain possession. Belton also applied strong defensive pressure, recording three caused turnovers on the week.
Offensive Player of the Week
MacKenzie Gibaud, Keiser
Senior | Rochester, N.Y. | Attacker
Notes: Gibaud delivered another outstanding performance across two games, leading the way with 10 total points on seven goals and three assists. In the game against Benedictine, she surpassed the 100-career goal milestone and now leads the team with 23 goals on the season. In addition to her scoring production, Gibaud contributed on the defensive end with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Notes: Straub led the Bees to a fifth-place finish at the SCAD Cup this Week. The Junior shot a 154 over the two rounds to tie for ninth.
Women's Golfer of the Week

Sophomore | Shenzhen, GuangDong, China
Notes: Luo tied for first with a two-round score of 149 (73, 76) to win an Individual Title against NCAA DII ranked opponents.

Sophomore | Port Saint Lucie, Fla. | Wide Receiver/Linebacker
Notes: Linebacker Dakota Moberg led Keiser to a 2-0 Sun Conference mark this past week, leading the team in flag pulls with 24. She opened the week with a team-high 10 flag pulls in a 35-7 win at Point. She also added her third interception of the season in the contest. A day later, Moberg set the school record for flag pulls in a game with 14 versus Brewton-Parker Christian. On the year, Moberg leads the team with 64 flag pulls and ranks No. 3 in the NAIA.

Notes: The freshman hauled in five receiving touchdowns on the week for 208 yards. Including a highlight reel catch against STU for a 66 yard score.

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Pedro De La Riva, Southeastern
Senior | Jerez de la Frontera, Spain
Notes: In the 3-1 week, where the only loss was to the No. 3 team in the NAIA, Pedro De La Riva went undefeated in singles, and was the Fire's only point against Keiser.
Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Irene Parigi, Southeastern
Sophomore | Grosseto, Italy
Notes: The Italian sophomore came up huge in arguably the greatest week in program history for Fire Women's Tennis. Not losing a match herself, as the Fire defeated three Top 15 programs, with their only loss coming to an NCAA DII program. She went undefeated in singles, and in doubles. With the biggest win of them all coming in the 4-3 win over No. 1 Keiser, coming from behind to knock off No. 33 Lena Couto in three sets to tie the match. The win over Keiser was Southeastern's first in program history, and the Seahawks first conference loss since 2017.

Notes: The duo of Sheffield and Hampton led the Rams at the No. 1 position, recording five wins and a perfect 10-0 set record on the week. They helped Mobile secure two non-conference victories and three conference wins.

Kevin Davis Jr., Southeastern
Junior | Largo, Fla.
Notes: Kevin Davis Jr. notched his season PR in the 400m Hurdles, topping all NAIA competition in a field loaded with NCAA DI competition. He notched another 'B' standard, moving to first in the SUN, and second in the NAIA, and eighth in SEU history.

Notes: Lucky Baldwin had a solid week at the USF Alumni Invitational, competing against NCAA DI and NAIA competition.
Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Sophomore
Notes: She finished sixth in a field of NCAA Division I competitors. Her time of 54.34 in the 400m dash is the best in both the NAIA and the Sun Conference this season and meets the NAIA “A” standard.
Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Senior | Melbourne, Fla.
Notes: Emma Terry had a nice showing at the USF Alumni Invitational featuring a majority NCAA DI compeition. Jumping to first in the Sun Conference in the Shot Put, and to seventh in the NAIA in the event.
