2026 Sun Conference Flag Football All-Conference and Specialty Awards Announced

TAMPA, Fla. – The 2026 All-Sun Conference Flag Football Specialty Award winners were announced Wednesday afternoon following a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Leading the honorees, Warner’s Jessica Finley was named Player of the Year. Finley leads the NAIA in receiving yards (1,570) and touchdown receptions (38), while ranking third in total receptions (134). Her receiving yardage and touchdown total set new all-time marks in the sport, and her receptions total surpasses previous single-season leaders. In conference play, she averaged 8.3 receptions per game and nearly 80 receiving yards per game, totaling 17 touchdowns.

Defensively, Finley totaled 25 tackles and 11 interceptions, ranking fourth nationally, while contributing to a unit allowing just 3.7 points per game. She was named both the Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week and NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week during the season.

Warner’s Kathryn Hutchinson was named Offensive Player of the Year. Hutchinson led an offense that averaged 61.1 points per game while setting NAIA single-season records in passing yards (6,292), passing touchdowns (144), and quarterback efficiency (219.1). She was named Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week three times during the season and earned NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week honors twice.

Keiser’s Dakota Moberg was named Defensive Player of the Year. A linebacker for the Seahawks, Moberg ranks fourth nationally in total flag pulls (108.0) and third in flag pulls per game (7.7). In conference play, she leads the league in total flag pulls (76.0) and flag pulls per game (8.4).

Warner’s Avalon Lux-Offermann was named Freshman of the Year. Lux-Offermann leads the NAIA in receptions (157). She ranks third nationally in receiving yards (1,511) and second in touchdown receptions (37). In conference play, she totaled 73 receptions and 13 touchdown receptions, both ranking second in the league.

Keiser’s Sophia Caprio was named the Champions of Character award recipient for her leadership and service on and off the field. According to her head coach, Samantha Harris, “Sophia represents everything this award stands for. Day in and day out she leads with integrity, doing the right thing when no one is watching. She shows respect to her teammates, coaches, and opponents and carries herself with a level of maturity that sets the standard for those around her.”

Warner’s Tim Mimbs was named Coach of the Year after leading the Royals to their first Sun Conference Regular Season Championship. Warner posted an 18-0 overall record during the regular season, including a 9-0 mark in conference play, and earned the right to host the 2026 Sun Conference Tournament. Under Mimbs’ leadership, the Royals are ranked No. 1 in the NAIA Top 10, and he led a league-best 10 players to All-Conference honors.

The 2026 Sun Conference Flag Football Tournament kicks off Thursday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. For more information on this year's championship, click here.
