Keiser University's Luiza Bersi Named 2025-26 Sun Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year

TAMPA, Fla. — The Sun Conference is pleased to announce Keiser University women's swimming student-athlete Luiza Bersi has been named the 2025-26 Sun Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The Sun Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognizes the conference's top female student-athlete based on academic accomplishments, community service and involvement, on-campus and team leadership, and athletic accomplishments throughout the 2025-26 academic year, as voted on by administrators from each institution in the league.

Bersi has established herself as one of the NAIA's top student-athletes through her excellence in the classroom and in the pool. A Psychology major, she earned CSC Academic All-America honors while also being recognized as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and a member of the Sun Conference All-Academic Team.

She paired that success in the classroom with one of the most decorated seasons in collegiate swimming. Bersi was named the 2026 NAIA Swimmer of the Year after leading the Seahawks to their fifth consecutive NAIA National Championship, capturing seven national titles and earning eight All-America honors during the national meet.

Among her standout performances, Bersi won the 200 Individual Medley in meet and school record fashion with a time of 2:00.93 before claiming the national championship in the 100 Butterfly. She also established a school record in the 200 Butterfly, finishing just .02 seconds shy of the NAIA record. As a member of Keiser's relay teams, Bersi helped set NAIA and meet records in the 200 Medley Relay and 800 Freestyle Relay while contributing to an NAIA-record performance in the 400 Medley Relay and a national championship in the 200 Freestyle Relay.

Bersi's commitment to excellence in the classroom and her record-setting accomplishments in the pool made her a deserving recipient of one of The Sun Conference's highest individual honors.
