DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Embry-Riddle's David Butler has been tabbed as The Sun Conference men's basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 2, 2011. This is Butler's first Player of the Week honor in 2010-11.
Butler and the NAIA No. 4 Eagles pushed their record to 13-1 overall with a perfect 4-0 week. The senior from Orlando, Fla. averaged 20.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game. Against Penn State-Harrisburg, Butler put up 17 points and 15 rebounds while blocking five shots. Butler also managed a double-double against William Carey with 17 points and 12 boards.
