DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Ave Maria’s Amy Myler was selected as the women’s basketball Player of the Week for the first time in 2010-11 on Jan. 17. The sophomore forward led the Gyrenes to a pair of Sun Conference wins last week, averaging 12 points, 14.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals.
Myler played 37 minutes in a 59-58 victory over Warner, tallying 11 points, 12 boards, three steals, a block and an assist. She scored the game-winning basket with just nine seconds left on the clock on the way to her eighth double-double of the year.
Against Webber International, Myler recorded her ninth double-double with a 13-point, 17-rebound performance in AMU’s 79-55 victory. She was 5-of-11 from the field and a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line and also contributed five assists and two steals in the win.
