DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – For the second time this season, Embry-Riddle senior David Butler was tabbed as The Sun Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Jan. 31. Butler led the Eagles to a 2-0 record in conference play during the week, averaging 22.5 points, 9.5, 2.5 assists and 3.5 blocks per contest.

Butler began the week with a 23-point, seven-rebound performance to lead the Eagles to an 81-51 win over Webber International. He was 10-of-13 from the field and 2-of-2 from the free throw line, and added two assists, two blocks and a steal.

In an 82-54 victory over Johnson & Wales, he recorded his ninth double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. The newest member of ERAU’s 500-rebound club, Butler had three assists and a game-high five blocks. He shot 80 percent (8-of-10) from the field and was successful in five of his seven trips to the charity stripe.
