DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Warner senior Sammie Clark earned her first Sun Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week nod of 2010-11 for her performance during the week ending Jan. 30. The Terebonne, Ore. center averaged a double-double (14.5 ppg, 13.5 rpg) to lead the Lady Royals to a pair of wins last week.
Against Johnson & Wales, Clark tallied 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field and added 13 rebounds, to lead Warner to a 72-46 conference win. In a 72-65 double-overtime defeat of Edward Waters, Clark played 39 minutes and recorded 15 points and 14 rebounds. She was 5-of-14 from the field and 5-of-8 from the charity stripe in that game and scored all eight points for the Lady Royals in the second overtime period to put the game out of reach.
