DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – St. Thomas junior Maddie Cummings averaged 24 points and three rebounds to garner The Sun Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week honors, the league off announced on Jan. The honor was the second of the season for the Melbourne, Fla. native who made four or more three-point baskets in each of the Bobcats’ three wins last week.

Cummings began the week with a 25-point outing in a 66-56 defeat of Florida Memorial. She also contributed three rebounds and was 9-of-17 from the line and 7-of-11 from beyond the arc. In 36 minutes of action against Edward Waters, she tallied 20 points, four rebounds and three steals as the Bobcats topped the Tigers 71-64.

Against Southeastern, Cummings turned in her best scoring performance of the week with 27 points. She connected on eight field goals and all eight were three-pointers.
