DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - For the second week in a row a Webber International Warrior has been selected as The Sun Conference Player of the Week. Shane McIntyre earned the weekly honor for his performance in games played Feb. 28 - Mar. 6.
McIntyre, a junior first baseman, hit .611 (11-for-18) in six games for WIU. His 12 RBIs and eight runs scored helped the Warriors to a 5-1 week, topping perennrial NAIA powers St. Xavier (Ill.) and Bellevue (Neb.). McIntyre slugged 1.111 and was a perfect six-for-six stealing bases. McIntyre hit four doubles, a triple and a home run.
