DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Florida Memorial's Jeffrey Henderson has been selected as The Sun Conference Field Athlete of the Week in men's track and field for the week of Mar. 28-Apr. 3, 2011, the conference office announced Monday.
Henderson had a strong showing at the USF Collegiate Invitational in Tampa, Fla. on Friday, Apr. 1, posting two "A" standards individually as well as a "B" standard time in a relay. The junior won the long jump with an impressive 7.57m jump, an "A" standard as well as the longest in the NAIA this year. In the 100m, the Little Rock, Ark. native placed second with an "A" standard time of 10.50. Finally, Henderson helped the FMU 4x400m relay team to a first-place finish with a "B" standard qualifying time of 3:16.25.
