DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Embry-Riddle's Reta Woodard has been selected as The Sun Conference Field Athlete of the Week in women's track and field for the week of Mar. 28-Apr. 3, the conference office announced Monday. This marks the third consecutive weekly award for Woodard.
Woodard tossed an "A" standard distance of 53.01m in the women's hammer throw on Friday, winning the event at the South Florida Invitational. The distance also sets a new high mark in the NAIA this season as the longest hammer throw in the nation in the 2011 outdoor season. Woodard also finished fourth in the discus throw (40.70m) and eighth in the javelin (25.42m).
