DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Ave Maria's Justin James is this week's Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance in a game against Webber International last weekend. This marks this first time a Gyrene has been awarded a Sun Conference weekly award in the sport of baseball.
James, a junior from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., put together one of the more impressive performances of the year with a 19 strikeout contest against the Warriors. James gave up one run on just six hits and two walks in a 5-1 victory for the Gyrenes. He pitched the entire nine innings and only eight outs were not recorded via a James strikeout.
