DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Warner senior Malcolm Campbell was selected as the first Sun Conference men’s basketball Player of the Year, the league office announced on Nov. 7. Campbell, who hails from Los Angeles, Calif., led the Royals to a pair of wins last week, averaging 23.5 points, 11 rebounds and 3.5 blocks.
Campbell started the week with a 25-point performance in a 113-68 defeat of Trinity College. He was a perfect 10-for-10 from the field with 5-of-12 free throws and totaled five boards and two blocks in 22 minutes of action. His next game saw the forward tally his first double-double of the year on 22 points and 17 rebounds to go with five blocks and a 10-for-13 shooting performance as the Royals topped Milligan 98-77.
