DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – St. Thomas sophomore Dannisha Pierce earned Sun Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week honors on Jan. 9after leading the Lady Bobcats to a 2-0 record last week. The 5-9 forward averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.5 steals to help STU improve to 12-4 on the year.
Against Johnson & Wales, Pierce recorded the first triple-double in school history, tallying 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals and going 9-of-16 from the field and 5-of-5 from the charity stripe in STU’s 71-35 win. The New Haven, Conn. native played all 40 minutes in a 74-53 win over Northwood, finishing with 22 points with 14 of those coming in the second half.
