DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Dominique Butler of Florida Memorial has been named this week's Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Butler was selected for her performances in games played Jan. 30 - Feb. 5, 2012.
The FMU forward is the first Lions' player to earn the award this season. Butler averaged 20.0 points and an impressive 17.5 rebounds per game last week for Florida Memorial. The senior from Trenton, N.J. scored 18 points and pulled down 14 boards in a win over Johnson & Wales before going for a 20-20 game against Northwood. Butler had 22 points and 21 rebounds in FMU's 71-61 win over the Seahawks.
