DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Sun Conference announced on Monday their weekly award winners for the spring, and Michael Heesch of South Carolina Beaufort earns the honor of Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Heesch, a senior left-hander was dominant against No. 4 Embry-Riddle on Friday, scattering eight hits and allowing only one run in a complete-game victory. He struck out six and didn't walk anyone to help the Sand Sharks take the opening game and eventually win two of three to hand the Eagles their first Sun Conference series loss in more than two years.
