DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle’s Simon Felix garnered his third Sun Conference men’s tennis Player of the Week honor of the 2012 season on Monday, Apr. 16. The sophomore went 1-1 in singles and 2-0 in doubles to improve his singles record to 21-4 and his doubles ledger to 19-4.

Against Armstrong Atlantic State, the top-ranked team in NCAA II, Felix teamed up with Peter Francis for a 9-7 win over Matus Mydla and Eudaldo Bonet at the third doubles spot. Felix’s only loss of the week came at the hands of NCAA II No. 5 Mikk Irdoja, 6-4, 6-3. Felix and Francis bested Jake Fleischer and Aloua Adjenak 8-3 in doubles and Felix downed 28th-ranked Victor Lozier 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 to clinch the Eagles’ 5-0 victory over NCAA II No. 18 St. Leo.
