DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Sun Conference announced its weekly award winners in the sport of outdoor track & field on Monday, and Embry-Riddle's Reta Woodard was named the women's outdoor field athlete of the week for the fifth straight time in 2012, her ninth consecutive award dating back to last year.
??Woodard shined for the Eagles at the Seminole Invitational, picking up a pair of top-two finishes against stiff competition. She finished second in the discus with a "B" standard mark of 43.34m, beating six athletes from FAMU, USF, and FSU. In the hammer throw, Woodard threw a distance of 54.68m, good for an "A" standard and besting four athletes from USF and FSU by nearly four meters.
