DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Thomas' Jenny Hernandez made history Monday afternoon, becoming the athletic program's first-ever Sun Conference Player of the Week honoree in any sport when she was named women's soccer Offensive Player of the Week by the conference office. Hernandez's accolade comes in the first year of Sun Conference competition for the Night Hawks, as well as the first of the 2012 soccer season.
The 5-5 sophomore from Miami, Fla. helped the Night Hawks to a 10-1 victory over Judson (Ala.) last week, striking for a hat trick in the contest. Hernandez has collected seven goals in just three games for TU to stay undefeated on the young season.
