DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - South Carolina Beaufort's Chelsie Mummert became the Sand Sharks' first-ever women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, earning the honor by way of USCB's 1-0 victory over Converse College.
Mummert, a 5-7 sophomore goalkeeper from Summerville, S.C. turned away six shots for her first career shutout against Converse. Mummert's efforts helped the Sand Sharks to their first win of the season while upping her shutout streak to 166 minutes.
