DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Junior Courtney Trujillo was named The Sun Conference women’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 29. Trujillo led the St. Thomas women’s soccer team to a conference win over Florida Memorial in their only game of the week. Trujillo anchored a defense that had a streak of 314 minutes until a goal in the final minute of a 6-1 win against the Lions. Trujillo's play as a central defender was the primary reason that STU did not allow more than one goal by an opponent for the final eight games of the regular season, including three shutouts.
