DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Northwood's Yasmene Harris becomes the second Seahawk to win The Sun Conference women's basketball Player of the Week honor for the 2012-13 season. Harris was chosen by the conference sports information directors.
A 5-8 senior guard from Long Island, N.Y., Harris was a rebound shy of a triple-double in a 67-32 victory for the Lady Seahawks against Clearwater Christian. Harris netted a game-high 26 points, provided lock-down defense with 11 steals, and grabbed nine rebounds. Harris currently leads the nation in steals, averaging 5.7 per contest.
