DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Sun Conference announced its weekly award winners in the sport of outdoor track & field on Monday, and Embry-Riddle’s Kameron Turner was named the men’s outdoor field athlete of the week for events ending Apr. 7.
The freshman from Palmdale, Calif. is the third consecutive Eagle to win the award setting two personal bests in four events at the ERAU Spikes Classic. Turner set personal marks in the javelin (53.73m) and pole vault (4.70m) with his vault being a "B" standard. Turner won the jevelin, placed thrid in the pole vault and was fifth in the shot put, while also finishing sixth in the discus.
