DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - For the second time in 2013, Andrew Yanes of Warner has been named The Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week. Yanes was selected by the conference sports information directors.
A junior from Miami, Fla., Yanes pitched a complete game shutout against the University of South Carolina Beaufort on Saturday. Yanes' performance prevented a Sand Shark sweep as the junior tossed all nine innings, allowing seven hits while striking out six. Yanes retired the Sand Sharks in order in four of the nine innings and did not allow a runner to reach third base all game.
