DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Sun Conference office has announced that Melony Poviones of St. Thomas is this week's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Poviones had a huge weekend with four goals and three assists for a total of 11 points in two Sun Conference wins. On Friday vs. 23rd-ranked SCAD Savannah, Poviones led the Bobcats to a come-from-behind victory after trailing 0-2 late in the first half. She assisted on the goal that tied the score at 2-2 in the second half and had the assist on the goal that put the Bobcats ahead 3-2. She then scored a goal in the 82nd minute that proved to be the game-winner, her third game-winning goal of the year. On Sunday vs. USCB, Poviones registered his first career hat trick and added an assist for a career-high seven points as the Bobcats remained undefeated on the season. On the year, Poviones is second on the team with eight goals and her six assists is tied for team-best.
