DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Junior goalkeeper Chelsie Mummert of USCB is this week's Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in goal for the Sand Sharks. The award was voted on by the league's sports information directors.
Mummert played a huge role in USCB's two wins this week as the Sand Sharks ran their winning streak to a season-high three games. Mummert made several highlight-reel saves to help the Sand Sharks upset rival SCAD Savannah 2-1 on Friday and recorded seven stops in her fourth shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory at St. Andrews on Sunday.
