DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Melony Poviones of St. Thomas becomes a repeat winner of Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her performances for STU last week.
Poviones tied a school record with five goals vs. Florida Memorial and broke a school record with 11 points on the game. It extended her goals scored streak to seven straight games and marked her third multi-goal game in her last five games played. Her five goals is tied for the second highest single-game total in the NAIA this season. On the season, the senior now has 17 goals scored, an average of 1.42 goals-per-game which ranks second in The Sun Conference behind teammate Sara Mira. She also ranks second behind Mira in points-per-game and assists-per-game.
