DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - DeForest Carter of Embry-Riddle is this week's Sun Conference men's basketball Player of the Week. Carter was chosen by the league's sports information directors for his performance in two games last week for the No. 3 Eagles.
Carter earned tournament MVP honors after leading the Eagles to the Daytona Mitsubishi/Kia Shootout title. He currently ranks sixth nationally in assists per game (7.14), ninth in total assists (50), ninth in steals (20) and 10th in steals per game (2.857). The junior posted 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game for ERAU against NAIA II No. 20 Tennessee Wesleyan and NAIA I Graceland in a pair of blowout victories.
