DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Embry-Riddle's DeForest Carter has been named The Sun Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time in 2013-14. Carter also earned the honor on Nov. 25.
The junior guard came up clutch for the top-ranked Eagles in both of their games last week. In Embry-Riddle's TSC opener on the road against Webber International, Carter scored 17 points, dished out seven assists and recorded five steals. In the season's biggest matchup to-date, Carter scored a team-high 18 points, including the game-winning three-pointer with nine-seconds left to give the Eagles the win over the Seahawks, just the third time in four seasons Northwood had lost on their home floor during the regular season. Carter also registered nine assists and four blocks for the Blue and Gold.
