DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Chris Solomon becomes the first Northwood Seahawk to be named Sun Conference Player of the Week for 2013-14. Solomon was chosen by the league's sports information directors for his performance in a pair of TSC contests last week.

Solomon had a record-setting week for the Seahawks in a pair of Sun Conference victories. In a road game against Ave Maria, the junior guard converted a program-high 10 three-pointers, en route to a 33-point effort. In a home win over Thomas, Solomon followed his previous performance by netting 40 points, breaking the single-game scoring mark set by Ra'Shad James with 39 points against Carthage on Dec. 17, 2012. For the week, Solomon averaged 36.5 points, shooting 53.8% from the field, and 54.8% from three-point range. On the season, Chris ranks first in The Sun Conference in scoring with 22.1 points a game, while shooting 43.7% from the field (9th), 42% from three-point (4th), and 85.2% from the free throw line (2nd).
