DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Chris Solomon of Northwood has earned his second Sun Conference Player of the Week honor as announced by the league office on Monday. Solomon also earned the honor on Jan. 13.
Solomon was the offensive sparkplug for the Seahawks in a pair of crucial Sun Conference victories last week. On the road at #3 Embry-Riddle, Chris led all scorers with 27 points, along with four rebounds, an assist and a steal in Northwood's 76-71 win. Against Johnson & Wales, Solomon netted 29 points, shooting 5-of-9 from the floor and 16-of-18 from the free throw line in 30 minutes of action. For the week, Chris was 50% (11-22) from the floor, 50% (6-12) from three-point, and 93.3% (16-18) from the charity stripe. On the year, Solomon had recorded double figures in 20 of 22 games, averaging 21.7 points per contest, ranking second in The Sun, while connecting on 3.5 three-pointers per, fourth-most nationally.
