DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Hannah Demarest of Southeastern becomes the first Fire player to earn Sun Conference Player of the Week accolades in 2013-14. Demarest was chosen by the league's sports information directors.
Demarest scored a career-high 26 points in SEU's 84-80 double overtime win over first place St. Thomas on Wednesday, then scored 18 in an overtime win over Warner on Saturday. In the second overtime period on Wednesday, she scored seven of the team's 14 points to push them over the top. Demarest also chipped in eight boards, two blocks and a steal against the Bobcats. Against Warner, she added six rebounds, two assists (both on key plays in the final 100 seconds of overtime), and swatted two shots. She was also a perfect 14-of-14 at the free throw line, and shot 71% from the field.
