DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle’s Deni Zmak was tabbed as the first Sun Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week on Monday. Zmak (Pula, Croatia) posted a 1-1 record in singles and a 1-1 ledger doubles, playing both matches at the top singles and doubles spots in the Eagles’ lineup.
Against St. Thomas, Zmak partnered with Simon Felix for a 8-1 win over Juan Bravo and Grover Ordonez. In singles, the sophomore downed Nicolas Etienne in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Zmak and Felix fell to 14th-ranked Fabian Groetsch and Ahmed Triki on NCAA II No. 1 Barry, 8-5, before Zmak dropped a tough three-set battle to Triki, 3-6, 6-4, 10-4.
