DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Stetson Nelson of Embry-Riddle becomes the first Eagle pitcher to earn Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week honors in 2014. Nelson was selected by the league's sports information directors.
Nelson tossed the fifth no-hitter in Embry-Riddle history on Saturday, throwing 6.0 innings, allowing one run while striking out three and walking two. The Leesburg, Fla. native has a 0.65 ERA in four games, allowing just two earned runs while fanning 19 in 27.2 innings of work. Nelson was a Honorable Mention All-American in 2013 and a preseason All-America selection this year.
