DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - For the third time this season, Atavia Blake has been named The Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Blake was selected by the league's sports information directors.
Blake book-ended a 2-1 week with a pair of double-doubles, to push her a conference-high 11 on the season. In an 92-87 overtime victory over NCAA DII Palm Beach Atlantic, Atavia netted a game-high 26 points with 10 rebounds. After falling one point and one rebound shy of a double-double at St. Thomas, Blake posted 17 points and 16 rebounds in a crucial 66-58 win over Southeastern. For the year, Blake ranks in the Top 10 in scoring (14.1; 8th), field goal percentage (.538; 1st), free throw percentage (.711; 9th), and rebounding (8.8; 2nd).
