Deni Zmak Award Player of the Week Week Of 3/3/2014 Sport Men's Tennis School Embry-Riddle Year Sophomore Position Hometown Pula, Croatia High School Birotehnika DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Sun Conference named Embry-Riddle’s Deni Zmak the league’s Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 3. Zmak was 3-0 in doubles and 3-0 in singles, including taking a singles and a doubles win from NCAA II No. 4 Lynn on the road. Friday, NAIA No. 1 Zmak was the first to finish his singles match at No. 17 Northwood he downed the Seahawk junior Iturriaga 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 for the Eagles' first singles point. The sophomore then teamed up with Simon Felix at No. 1 doubles and beat Northwood 8-4. Saturday, ERAU competed at NCAA II No. 4 Lynn and Zmak picked up the first point of the afternoon when he teamed up with Felix to best Lynn's top-flight team of Vlad Cirla and Daniel Riggs 8-4. Zmak went on to defeat Cirla at the top spot 7-6 (4). Sunday, hosting Toledo, Zmak and Felix were able to stave off match point and won three games in a row to clinch the doubles point for the Eagles with a 9-7 win over Sisko and Cona. At No. 1 singles, Zmak earned an easy 6-0 win in the first set, but Singnil jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the second and seemed poised to send the match to a decisive third set. Zmak, however, regained his focus and won five games in a row for 6-4 second set win, which gave him his 16th win of the year.
