DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The third different Embry-Riddle men's tennis player has been named The Sun Conference Player of the Week for the 2014 season as Jaime Sanchez-Canamares Rios earned the honor on Monday. The weekly award is voted on by the league's Sports Information Directors.
Sanchez-Canamares won all four of his matches last week to help the Eagles to wins over two ranked opponents in No. 7 Cumberland (Tenn.) and No. 23 Olivet Nazarene, 7-2 and 6-3, respectively. The junior from Albacete, Spain won 8-2 at 6-0, 6-0 at #2 doubles and #2 singles against the Bulldogs before following it up with 8-5 and 6-2, 6-0 wins against the Tigers.
